What we do

Applications of EPS in Light Weight Screed

NPPF’s Lightweight Screed is made using high-quality, fire-retardant Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) beads. These beads are white or gray, pearl-shaped, and range from 3 to 12 mm in diameter, with a low density of 8–15 kg/m³.

EPS beads are commonly used in ready-mix applications to produce lightweight screed. Designed specifically for rooftops, terraces, and slab structures, EPS screed offers weight reduction, thermal insulation, and construction efficiency—making it an ideal choice for modern, sustainable building practices. These solutions ensure structural integrity while reducing the load on buildings, making them especially valuable in high-rise and retrofitting applications.

Rooftop & Terrace Screeding

How can it help my business?

EPS-based screeding is used in roofing applications to level surfaces, create slopes for water drainage, and provide insulation beneath waterproofing membranes.

Advantages & Benefits:

  • Reduces dead load on structural slabs
  • Quick installation with prefabricated or cut-to-size blocks
  • Enhances thermal insulation, reducing indoor temperature fluctuations
  • Minimizes use of heavy concrete and associated labor
  • Compatible with various waterproofing and finishing systems

Thermal Insulated Screed

How can it help my business?

Combining the functions of screed and insulation, this application improves both structural performance and energy efficiency in one solution.

Advantages & Benefits:

  • Dual-purpose: levels surfaces and insulates simultaneously
  • Excellent thermal resistance (low thermal conductivity)
  • Prevents heat gain/loss through roof and slab systems
  • Reduces HVAC energy demand and long-term operational costs
  • Inert and resistant to mold, rot, and moisture infiltration

Weight Reduction on Slabs

How can it help my business?

EPS screed dramatically reduces the weight of screed systems over slabs, allowing flexibility in structural design and reducing stress on foundations.

Advantages & Benefits:

  • Up to 80–90% lighter than traditional screed materials
  • Ideal for high-rise construction and retrofitting projects
  • Lowers cost of reinforcement and support structures
  • Accelerates construction timelines with easy handling and cutting
  • Improves building safety and durability under static loads

Rooftop & Terrace Applications (General)

How can it help my business?

EPS screed solutions are tailored to meet the unique structural and thermal requirements of rooftop and terrace systems, especially where slope correction and lightweight design are critical.

Advantages & Benefits:

  • Customized thickness and slope configuration
  • Seamless integration with drainage, insulation, and waterproofing layers
  • Long-lasting performance with minimal maintenance
  • Compatible with green roofs and solar panel installations
  • Reduces overall building load without compromising strength

Smart Construction with EPS: Built For Performance

EPS is a lightweight yet strong solution used across major construction applications. It supports infrastructure projects like road widening, rail embankments, and airport runways by offering a stable, easy-to-install alternative to traditional fill materials.

In stadiums and theaters, EPS simplifies seating construction with pre-cut blocks that are easy to shape and position. It also serves as a void former in concrete slabs, reducing weight and material use without sacrificing strength.

For residential and commercial builds, EPS helps raise floor levels and stabilize landscaping, all while being easy to handle and install. Designed for the GCC’s climate, EPS offers excellent thermal insulation and structural reliability — making it a smart, versatile choice for the region’s demanding construction needs.
